Drinkie Drunkie

as a new years resolution, i have started tracking my drinks.  i began on the 15 january and have chugged down 80 cocktails and glasses of wine...WHAT?  the month is not yet over for me but i have zero plans to drink tonight.  the lad and i are off to the movies even though it is 25 degrees beautiful and sunny.

80 drinks...my god.  i need a full time job again.  oh wait, i got one.  i was offered a contract position which would be perfect as i can keep working with morgan.  however, i have another interview, final round, with another firm on tuesday.  if i get that...what to do?????  and then there is tokyo.  hmmmmmmmmm.  will be nice to have some consistent money though.

and you?  your weekend?

Too Much Sleep

its past midnight into technically monday morning and i am wide awake as i think i got too much sleep this weekend.  ergo, i blog.

friday was spent in macau.  the three of us trekked up to macau on ferry, went out to fernandos (which was fantastic even though there were no clams), and back to the hotel for some gambling and drinking.  i spent about 100hkd and lost it all.  and sandra and jason were active on the blackjack tables winning...um, nothing.  but we had a blast.  we spent saturday walking around and generally chilling out.

back to hong kong and a night in with an exhausted boyfriend.  he just got back from a week on campus doing his executive mba.  poor baby.  i rang twice and didnt even wake up - finally i had to ring him from standing outside his door.  we spent a relaxed sunday getting his hair cut, having lunch and cleaning...the construction men outside broke the window in his bathroom for a second time and his place was covered in dust.  fun times.

and this week is uber-busy both days and nights.  i have to get my photographer's work into the four seasons before my mate who works there is relocated for koh samui...yes, he is being relocated to heaven.  and i plan to visit.  i am pitching new business with one of the bank's design firm that has been hired to move them to the icc.  and i have drinks, a black tie art auction event,  dinners and more drinks all this week.

speaking of rough life...

ta ta for now,

Tokyo Tricks

a former client emailed me the other day asking if i would be open to moving to tokyo.  at first i thought, no way.  but now i am considering it...

the pros of moving:
  • its TOKYO - i love tokyo
  • i know a few people there already
  • it is one of the last major cities i have not lived in (done london, ny and hong kong).  i suppose all that is left is shanghai and dubai (with ZERO interest there)
  • best food i have eaten in my life
  • good advancement for my career
the cons of moving:
  • i like hong kong - am the happiest i have been in years
  • the boy - i like him A LOT
  • i dont speak japanese (which actually isnt a HUGE problem but still makes life difficult)
i dont know.  nothing tangible has happened so there is no need to get my panties in a twist but it is something to consider!

Updates All Around

so with a friend in town, we are headed out to macau for this coming friday night.  glamorous?  no.  good food at fernando's, the possibility of making some money gambling and a big hotel room for a night?  yes.  i am looking forward to it.  the whole trip will probably cost about 140usd not including whatever i eat & drink. not too shabby!

the boy has started his executive mba this week and is living on campus.  he told me last night he doesnt fit in his bed - sooooo cute.

my photographer is back and its time to get back work.  the days of multiple yoga classes and cooking all day are over :(  however i had a nice surprise of seeing the book covered in the in-flight cathay magazine.  pretty cool!!!!!

what have you been up to???

Back to Honkers

it was a good but tiring and freezing trip back to the states.  boston, dc and ny were all terribly cold and i dont think i warmed up truly...except maybe during my long hot showers.  being at home with family was great and seeing close friends was wonderful.  i am truly thankful for both.

it is weird though, i am quite happy to be back here.  despite the fact i am not making loads of money, i do not care - i am happy.  happier than i have been in some time.  i hope it lasts for 2010.

speaking of, anyone make any resolutions?  i made the typical:  drink less, get back into shape and to generally grow up.  hong kong is like never neverland and as i get older, i am definitely acting younger.  so it is time to be a bit more of an adult.  not too much though as that would not be that much fun...but perhaps a bit.  like stop losing things and barfing on my scarves...big girl time.
